Mixing for the recordings of Meu Coração Brasileiro of American pianist Jeff Kunkel starts this Monday. Haroldo Mauro is the drummer in the album as well as co-producer, along with Jeff Kunkel. Alexandre Hang from Drum Studio in Rio is the recording engineer. Exept for the main artist, all musicians and singers are Brazilian: Vika Barcellos and Mariana Bernandes (voice); José Arimatéia (trumpet); Mauro Senise (alto & flute); Alex Rocha (bass) and Haroldo Mauro Jr. (drums)

Brazilian jazz pianist Haroldo Mauro Jr.'s Bossa na pressão (Steaming Bossa) is the latest release by Delira Música of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Playing with Haroldo Mauro in all tracks are bassist Sergio Barrozo and drummer Duduka da Fonseca. Of the album's twelve tracks six are tunes written by Haroldo Mauro himself. There are also standards by Tom Jobim, Newton Mendonça, Carlos Lyra, Vinicius de Moraes and originals by pianist Alfredo Cardim and saxophonist Raul Mascarenhas. Whatmusic.com of London has released the CD "Obras II: O Pulo do Gato", by legendary Brazilian drummer Edison Machado, recorded in 1971 at Rio de Janeiro. Haroldo Mauro Jr. is the pianist in this album, composer of the tune it was named after and regular member of Edison's quartet at the time of the recording, together with tenor saxophonist Ion Muniz and bassist Ricardo Santos. Also appearing in some tracks is trombonist Edson Maciel. Meirelles, one of the most important musicians of the Bossa Nova movement from the sixties, starts a new season at megastore Modern Sound's Allegro music room, accompanied by Brazilian jazz pianist Haroldo Mauro and bassist Sergio Barroso. The "Copa 3" trio, a reduced version of the original "Copa 5", will play every Saturday from noon to 4PM.

Pianist and professor Haroldo Mauro Jr. was invited to join a team headed by professor Roberto Gnattali that will start a program of Brazilian Popular Music at the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música at Rio de Janeiro. Haroldo, himself a former CBM student, will teach piano and ensemble classes.
